Job Description
Five Star Restoration & Construction - Farifield, is looking for Carpenters with experience in Drywall, Tile and Framing:
- Cut, shape and assemble wood, composition and/or plastic sections with shop tools and equipment such as planners, jointers, shaper, routers, sanders and various power saws
- Prepare structures for finish applications by planning, shaping and sanding, using hand and power tools
- Read and interpret plans, sketches and shop drawings
- Determine type and dimensions of wood stock to be used
- Rebuild cabinet boxes and reinstall
- Install new cabinets
- All trim work: base, casing, crown, doors, etc.
- Minor framing
- Tile setting experience
- Ability to paint surfaces including walls, floors, doors and cabinets
- Mix, match and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel and other finishes
- Scrape, sandpaper, prime and/or seal surfaces prior to painting
- Clean walls to ensure proper adherence
- Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection
- Calculate amounts of required materials
- Fill holes, cracks and joints with caulk, putty, plaster or other fillers, using caulking gun or putty knives
- Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps and electric switch covers prior to painting
- Knowledgeable on masking and working in occupied homes
- Apply drywall to walls or ceilings
- Prepare panels for painting by taping or finishing joints
- Measure, cut, fit and fasten panels
- Read blueprints and designs
Skills and Experience Requirements:
- 5 years of verifiable experience
- Ability to work both alone and as a team
- All applicants must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- All applicants must have good DMV and be able to pass insurance company’s criminal background check
- Excellent communication and technical skills
- Ability in problem-solving strong sense of urgency
